Friday before the Regatta
From 8pm till Midnight – The ‘Friends’ Party.

friday3The “Friends of The Regatta” Party  held at the Elephant Boatyard  with music from a local band.
Fancy dress, always amazing, but we’re sure was even more so this year! 

This is always a private party for “Friends of Bursledon Regatta” and their guests.  We were again over subscribed so please don’t leave it to the last minute this year to order your tickets.

Saturday  –  Morning Events

Saturday morning is dedicated to the Dinghy Racing with seven races starting at around 10.30.

Saturday  – Afternoon Events

Please note that there is no parking on the Regatta site and limited parking in the surrounding area

12:30 – 17:30 Afternoon Events at the Elephant Boatyard. Fancy dress encouraged but there will be no Children’s Fancy Dress competition this year due to a marked reduction in entrants in recent years!
Bar, Tea and Refreshments, BBQ, Whisky & Wine Raffle, Children’s games/novelty stall and tombola. On-the-water- events will start at 14.00 with the traditional Boatyard Gig Race.

14:30 Start of the Regatta aquatic events in Bursledon Pool.
15:30 (approx). Water Carnival
If you would like to enter a float for the Water Carnival please go to the Contact page on the website and let us know. Also if you would like advice on how to build a float, let us know on the Contact page. All entries to fill in a Carnival entry form at the Information Point so we can, in the commentary, give you the publicity you deserve for all your efforts!

Saturday Evening Events (Start times subject to alteration for Safety reasons but will never be earlier!)

18:00 Prize Giving for Dinghy Races. Pig roast and Bar  in Elephant Yard

20:45 Torchlight Parade of Dinghies. Chains of dinghies, tied together and towed, create a magical illuminated procession. All are welcome to bring a dinghy and assemble at Land’s End hard at 20:15 where you will be briefed and supplied with flaming torches. It’s just £2 per torch but please bring the correct money. It will create memories that children never forget! For more information please use our contact page.

21:00 Grand Firework display.

Races for Old Gaffers, Yachts, Keeled Dayboats and ‘X’ one Design.

Prize giving for Yacht racing will be around 16:30
